Lazing on a sunny afternoon

Hi there
Just a little card I made for a certain cat lover's birthday using layers of paint, stencilling and doodling.

Hope you're all having a relaxing time. Thanks for stopping by. xxx

Wooden it be lovely!

This week at The Craft Barn the DT have been showcasing projects using wooden embellishments. My turn today to show you how you can turn them into fashion statements!

For all the details hop over to the blog for a look. Just a quickie from me as I'm off to The Craft Barn for a day with Helen Chilton and a catch up with some of my fellow DT members. Will show you later what we get up to.

Have a lovely crafty day xxx

Fond Farewells

Fond farewells is the theme at The Craft Barn this week. Some how it slipped my attention that my project was published yesterday but it's not too late to take a look at the blog for details of how to make it.

It's a great stamp for layering and although I thought it was perfect for a retirement, it would equally be great for a birthday or a party invitation. I decided to stamp on acetate for a glassy feel but it would work equally well on card.

Thank you for popping by. Hope you have some lovely crafty treats lined up for the week ahead. xxx

Shadow Box

Hello again
A two post day...now that doesn't happen very often!
I've been having a play with the new Art-C kits in stock at The Craft Barn. First up is the shadow box which I think lends itself to a vintage or shabby chic finish. I'm always happy messing around with paint and textures!

For the full method pop over to The Craft Barn blog. When I get a bit of time I'm looking forward to trying out the display box and mini house box too.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you all have a crafty week!

Happy 4th July

Hello
Happy 4th July to all my American friends in the UK and all of my followers in the U.S.

A good day to celebrate the things which unite us across the globe.

Hot July brings cooling showers...

Hello there
It's the first Sunday of the month and time for the next verse of The Craft Barn's Twelve Month Challenge, based on Sarah Coleridge's poem The Months.

Hot July brings cooling showers,
Apricots and gillyflowers.

I really enjoyed making this one, I think because of the lovely warm colours. Of course I had to look up what a gillyflower was! I went with the old fashioned definition of a sweet scented flower, typically a pink carnation or stock.

Do pop over to the blog to see what everyone comes up with for this month. Meanwhile enjoy the summer and fingers crossed for more of the hot sun and less of the cooling showers! xxx
